Fifty German and American political scientists, historians, and other educators met in Helmstedt, Germany from 28 September - 2 October, 2009. The event was co-sponsored by the Center for Civic Education and the Bundeszentrale fur politische Bildung.
To broaden its public outreach the Center for Civic Education has launched three new Twitter feeds. Follow all three feeds to get a daily dose of civic education.
The 2009 Democracy Camp for Teachers was held July 19-24, 2009 at Mississippi State University. Educators from Mississippi, Florida, Panama, Peru, Romania and Hungary attended the event which focused on Human Rights and Citizenship education.
Civic educators from 66 countries and 28 U.S. states and the District of Columbia gathered in Cape Town, South Africa from May 27June 1, to exchange and share best practices in education for democracy programs.
